This month, we’re thrilled to have Bowen Yao join us for some behind-the-scenes storytelling of My UniUni, is a data- and AI-powered admissions platform that turns transcripts into explainable roadmaps. In Canada, MyUniUni aggregates continuously updated requirements for 100+ universities and 30,000+ programs; students upload a transcript to get a calibrated Reach/Target/Safety list plus a personalized action plan for courses, tests, activities, and scholarships. The result is efficiency and equity—weeks of research saved and fair access for newcomers and low-income families.

About the Speaker (seen below)

Bowen Yao—an entrepreneur and angel investor with over a decade at the intersection of international education and health tech. He founded MyUniUni (among mainland China’s earliest data-driven study-abroad platforms), Vigeotec (geospatial intelligence for cross-border decisions), and BoostRehab (AI-guided post-injury exercise prescriptions in partnership with leading hospitals). Previously a syndromic surveillance epidemiologist, Bowen holds an MPH and a post-master certificate in AI in Health Data from Washington University in St. Louis. He is a member of Canada’s National Angel Capital Organization, investing across digital health, edtech, and data infrastructure in North America and Asia.
