About the Presenter
A Baltimore native, Kai Singleton is a Cooperative Developer from Baltimore Roundtable for Economic Democracy. Kai served in the United States Air Force before pursuing his undergraduate degree at Coppin State University. Kai uses his understanding of how aesthetic lives and lived realities can establish a resilient business. While working at the Maryland Institute College of Art as the Community Liaison for the Office of Strategic Initiatives, Kai helped coordinate the foundation of Korner Boyz Enterprise by facilitating meetings for youth squeegee workers who wanted to start their own bottled water company. Korner Boyz Enterprises was founded in 2019 and has succeeded in sending its water to customers around the county. During a water shortage emergency, the city bought water directly from Korner Boyz for distribution. Since then, select vendors around the city have chosen to support the mission and values the young men established and carry Korner Boyz water.
