Returning after a successful first year, Historic Rock Ford's Social Dance events give participants an opportunity to enjoy English Country Dance! These events are designed for everyone to enjoy – no prior dance experience is necessary, and new dancers are welcome anytime! English Country Dance is a centuries-old dance form that is still popular worldwide. Programs will often include English Country Dances dating from the 17th Century to the 21st Century. Each dance will be taught and prompted by a caller.
Dancing will be to recorded music.
Partners are not required, as you will change partners throughout the session, and there will be friendly people who will ask you to dance.
Please wear clothes you can dance and move around in and flat-soled shoes that won’t stick or skid on our concrete floor.
Please also bring water to drink.
All ages welcome but recommended for ages 7 and up.
This event will be held in the Langmuir Education Room on the first floor of the Rock Ford Barn.
$5 ages 12 and up and free for under 12
