Guided group hypnosis session to help you feel more natural & self-assured in meetings, networking events, & professional social situations
Social Confidence for Professionals Guided Group Hypnosis in Downtown Toronto (to join virtually, please refer to the Event Details below)
A guided group hypnosis session designed to help you feel more comfortable around colleagues, clients, senior professionals, and unfamiliar people—without needing to become someone you are not.
You may be perfectly confident when you know the people around you.
Then you walk into a networking event, important meeting, industry reception, or room full of accomplished strangers and suddenly become intensely aware of yourself.
Where should you stand? Who should you talk to? What should you say? Are you being interesting enough? Did that comment sound foolish? Should you introduce yourself—or wait for someone else?
The more closely you monitor yourself, the less naturally you behave.
This session uses guided hypnosis to help you shift your attention away from constant self-evaluation and toward the people, ideas, and conversations actually in front of you.
The goal is not to turn you into an extrovert.
It is to help you remain more like yourself when the social stakes feel higher.
This session may be especially helpful if you:
-Feel awkward at networking events or professional receptions
-Become quieter around senior or highly accomplished people
-Struggle to introduce yourself to someone you do not know
-Overthink what to say before joining a conversation
-Avoid speaking up in meetings unless you are completely certain
-Become overly aware of how you sound, look, or appear to others
-Replay conversations afterward and criticize what you said
-Feel uncomfortable promoting yourself or discussing your accomplishments
-Worry about running out of things to say
-Find one-to-one conversation easier than entering a group
-Want to become more comfortable being visible professionally
-Feel capable at your work but less confident in the social situations surrounding it
What to Expect
The session begins with a brief introduction to the evening’s theme. Participants may suggest particular situations they would like addressed, such as networking, meetings, conferences, client interactions, professional dinners, interviews, workplace social events, introductions, or conversations with senior people.
You will then be guided through a shared hypnosis experience centred on ideas such as:
-You do not have to impress someone in order to have a worthwhile conversation with them.
-Another person’s title, income, reputation, or experience does not make you socially inferior.
-You can respect someone without placing yourself beneath them.
-Most people are more concerned with their own impression than with scrutinizing yours.
-You do not need the perfect opening line to begin a conversation.
-Curiosity is often more useful than trying to appear interesting.
-A pause or moment of awkwardness does not mean that an interaction has gone badly.
-You can speak before you have rehearsed every sentence internally.
-You are allowed to contribute even when someone else knows more than you.
-You do not need universal approval to participate comfortably.
-You can let a conversation end without interpreting it as rejection.
-Your attention belongs on the interaction—not on continually watching yourself have it.
Depending on the needs of the group, the session may also address fear of judgment, imposter syndrome, professional visibility, assertiveness, social comparison, speaking spontaneously, or discomfort talking about your own work and accomplishments.
The exact content varies slightly from one session to another, while the central purpose remains the same: helping professional social situations feel less like performances.
You Do Not Need to Perform Confidence
Social confidence is often misunderstood as knowing how to appear impressive.
But trying to appear confident can create exactly the self-consciousness that makes conversation difficult.
You monitor your posture. Your voice. Your facial expressions. Whether you are speaking too much or too little. Whether the other person seems sufficiently interested.
Meanwhile, your attention has moved away from the conversation itself.
A more useful form of confidence is simpler: assuming that you have as much right as anyone else to be present, remaining interested in the person in front of you, and allowing yourself to respond naturally.
You do not need to dominate the room.
You need to stop treating the room as though it is evaluating whether you belong there.
Professional Status Does Not Determine Human Status
Workplaces naturally contain differences in authority, experience, expertise, and responsibility.
Those differences are real.
They do not require you to experience another person as a superior human being.
You can speak respectfully with a CEO, partner, professor, client, senior executive, or recognized expert without mentally diminishing yourself in their presence.
Their accomplishments deserve whatever respect they have earned.
So do yours.
The goal is not to imagine that everyone is identical. It is to maintain your self-respect while recognizing legitimate differences in role and experience.
Who Can Attend?
No previous experience with hypnosis is required. You may participate quietly, and you will not be required to introduce yourself to the group, disclose professional insecurities, or participate in networking exercises.
You may attend with a particular professional situation in mind or simply work on becoming more comfortable around unfamiliar people.
This session may be particularly relevant to professionals, executives, entrepreneurs, academics, graduate students, consultants, and anyone whose career increasingly requires them to be visible and socially engaged.
Each session stands on its own. You are welcome to attend once or return regularly to reinforce the ideas in different situations.
