Soccer Society
About this Event
The screening will be followed by a conversation with Davide Coppo, Naomi Accardi (Systemarosa), and Grace Ahrens (Women in Soccer).
32 years have passed since the last time the United States hosted a World Cup. Undici, the leading Italian magazine about sports and culture, came to New York to understand where soccer culture stands today, in the most culturally significant city in the world, and not just in sporting terms. In the short documentary "Soccer Society" (written by Davide Coppo and directed by Marco Rosella), Undici meets the people shaping the present and the future of the beautiful game in the United States.
The screening will be followed by a conversation between Naomi Accardi (writer, co-founder of Systemarosa), Grace Ahrens (Executive Director of Women in Soccer), and Davide Coppo (journalist, author of the documentary). The night also marks the debut of our own: the international launch of Undici, the magazine that treats football as culture.
Doors open at 7:00 pm. Talk starts at 7:30 pm.
