WEAPONS starts out as a heightened but believable exploration of collective trauma—shifting focus among those affected by the mysterious tragedy—but, in the hands of the creator of ‘Barbarian,’ you know it can’t stay grounded for long. In fact, it quickly switches tracks in a thrilling and unnerving way, swerving into uncharted, supernatural territory before crashing to an operatic final act that must be seen to be believed. [NH]
