Are you getting ready to trial with your dog? Perhaps you’re already competing and need some practice and feedback on your skills. At Integrity Nose Worx we're here to help. The focus of this "Sniff and Learn" Mock Trial session will be NACSW and AKC Scent Work Trial Elements and include searches for Containers, Interiors, Exteriors, Vehicles, and AKC Buried Sand and Water Hides. Searches will be geared towards both NACSW NW1 and AKC Advanced Elements, but can be changed to NW2 or Excellent/Masters towards the end of each session by request. We will be setting up searches and acting as “Judge/Timer” and also providing instruction to handlers after each search type is completed. Handlers will be limited to 3-4 minutes per search, as in a trial. All teams will be run through each search type, and then there will be discussion and Q&A on that search, with coaching tips.
****Dogs must already be familiar with searching and working odor; this will be run like a mock trial, with instruction in between.****
Group #1 Reception/In-processing 830-845am
Group #1 Handler briefing promptly at 9am, with first dog searching at 9:15 am.
Break and Rest/Reset for staff: 1130am - 1230pm
Group #2 Reception/In-processing 1230pm - 1245pm
Group #2 Handler briefing promptly at 1pm, with first dog searching at 1:15 pm.
Dogs must be crated in vehicle. Indoor crating space will NOT be available.
If your dog is reactive towards unfamiliar dogs or people, please advise us prior to attending and/or use the red bandanna system.
5 search types offered; Interiors, Containers, Exteriors, Vehicles, and AKC Buried Sand and Water.
Odors used: Birch, Anise, and Clove or Cypress on Request.
Scent Work "Sniff and Learn" sessions are to familiarize dogs and their owners with searching in new and different environments.
