About this Event
About the Session
This session takes a practical, experience‑driven look at how generative AI is reshaping the way software is built, moving far beyond simple coding assistance to a world where entire systems can now be created using AI‑generated code. Drawing on first‑hand experience, the speaker will walk participants through how AI coding tools have evolved over the past 12 months and what this shift really means in practice.
The discussion will unpack how this change is redefining roles for software engineers, opening new opportunities while also requiring a shift in mindset and skills. It will also explore how startups and companies can rethink their development pipelines, reduce costs, and move faster, and how founders can go from idea to product more efficiently by relying on AI‑enabled development.
Importantly, the session will show how non‑technical professionals can now build complete products end‑to‑end using modern AI tools, lowering traditional barriers to entry. The session will also introduce Codistry and explain how its work fits into this rapidly changing landscape, with a particular focus on why this transformation matters for Malta and the opportunities it presents locally.
The event will wrap up with an open discussion on whether this shift is genuine long‑term change or short‑term hype, followed by an extended Q&A and informal networking session.
