The Cause:

Kansas City zookeeper, Erin Hoff, is partnering with the Katie Adamson Conservation Fund to raise critically needed funds for wildlife conservation efforts in the Tembe Elephant Park in South Africa. In order to monitor and manage the animals that live on the nature reserve, particularly lions, leopards, and elephants, funds will be used to purchase radio collars.

Why radio collars?

The nature reserve is over 115 square miles. Radio collars on animals allow conservationists to track their locations through telemetry. This provides critical data on the animals’ behavior and social dynamics. It also reduces human-wildlife conflict in the area, helping to keep both the animals and community members of the local tribe safe.  

100% of the proceeds of this pickleball tournament/fundraiser will go towards this specific animal conservation effort.
