About this Event
Smartphones & Our Children: Navigating the Digital World Together
Smartphones are now a central part of children’s lives - bringing both opportunities and challenges for families and schools.
This evening is designed to offer a calm, balanced and informative space for parents, carers and educators to better understand the impact of smartphones and digital life on young people, and to explore practical, realistic ways to support them.
Bringing together expert speakers from health, education and parenting, alongside student voice, the event will cover:
- The link between smartphones and children’s mental health and wellbeing
- How young people are using smartphones today - and what current research shows
- Real-world insights into the digital risks affecting children locally
- Practical, achievable strategies to reduce conflict and support healthier habits at home
We will also share how families and school communities are working together to take a more gradual, supported approach to smartphone use - helping children stay connected without becoming overly dependent.
Our aim is not to alarm or judge, but to inform, empower and support - helping families make confident, thoughtful decisions in a rapidly changing digital world.
There will also be an opportunity to ask questions and connect with others navigating similar challenges.
We look forward to welcoming you.
