Want to ride Milwaukee streets like a boss? Want to show no fear when you have to negotiate intersections like National and 2nd or 1st and Becher/Bay or even the Walkers Point Roundabout? This workshop is designed to develop your confidence as a bike commuter.
We'll cover wide-ranging topics viewed through the lens of a bike commuter including:
Parts of a Bike, Choosing Your Bike, Types of Bikes, Bike Fit, ABC Quick Check, Principles of Traffic Law, Bike Infrastructure, Hazards in Bicycling, Sharing Paths and Trails, Riding in Inclement Weather, Night Riding, Securing a Bike
We will spend time on bikes practicing several hazard avoidance skills and taking a group ride to learn on-street best practices and rules of the road and multi-use paths.
The Smart Cycling classes are led by a League Cycling Instructor. Our education programs are designed to reach people of all ages and abilities by improving skills, building confidence, and training others to be teachers in their own communities.
