This workshop (and it's companion workshop Small Business Taxes 201) is designed to provide a clear and concise overview of the essential tax concepts that every small business owner should know. We will delve into the fundamental aspects of business taxes, including:• Introduction to Business Taxes: Learn the basics of business taxation and understand the consequences of non-compliance.
• Types of Business Taxes: Discover the various types of business taxes, such as income tax, self-emploment tax, payroll tax, sales tax, and property tax.
• Federal Tax Requirements: Gain insights into federal tax obligations, including filing deadlines, tax forms, and estimated taxes.
• State Tax Requirements: Understand the specific state tax requirements that apply to your business, the process for registering a business with the state, and sales tax collection and remittance.
By the end of this workshop, you will have a solid foundation in small business taxes, enabling you to make informed decisions and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
About the presenter: Dr. Monica Beasley is the owner of Monica's Accounting & Tax Service (MATS). She is a certified tax professional, accountant, author, and enrepreneur, among other roles. As a community liason and family advocate, Dr. Beasley diligently works to help individuals and families overcome barriers to address their needs and to ultimately become self-sufficient. When not actively serving others, Dr. Beasley travels across the country and performs music, motivationally speaks, and empowers people to turn their lives around.
