Support local businesses on Small Business Saturday! Start the day at 154 N. Water St., where we'll be handing out free reusable shopping totes (some with free gift cards inside!), insider Small Business Saturday and 12 Days of Christmas holiday shopping information, hot cocoa and holiday treats. This is also the start of the annual MSK Elf Hits Downtown Kent contest, so pick up your contest card and get an early start. Take festive photos with our Black Squirrel Elf and at the big holiday tree at Hometown Bank Plaza. Grab lunch, snacks and sips -- and enjoy your time downtown. Then...stay for the Festival of Lights presented by the Kent Area Chamber of Commerce!
The Festival of Lights is 5:00–8:30pm at Hometown Bank Plaza! Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive at 5:30pm to Hometown Bank Plaza, joining the Mayor to light up downtown and officially usher in the season. Enjoy hot cocoa, cookies, children’s books, a craft at the Marvin Kent Train Car and letter-writing to Santa at the Gazebo. Carriage rides begin after Santa’s arrival, departing from The Loft.
