Small Boat Sailing Merit Badge Camp 2026
About this Event
Sea Scout Ship 280 is proud to host our 8th annual Small Boat Sailing Merit Badge Camp.
Scouts must have already passed the Scouting American (SA) swimmer test to participate. Scouts must provide a note from their Scoutmaster or summer camp indicating that they successfully completed the SA ‘Swimmer’ test since 4/1/2026. Contact us if you need the swim test.
You must attend the entire camp. You cannot leave for Football, Soccer or any other reason. Please do not sign up unless you can attend the entire camp.
NOTE: Sailing is highly weather dependent. Equipment issues, storms, high winds or no wind may prevent completing the badge during the camp. If this happens we will offer makeup time after camp to complete the requirements.
Scouts should review the merit badge book prior to the camp. Meals and snacks are provided. You’ll need:
- Swim Suit
- Water Bottle
- Tent
- Closed toe shoes
- Water shoes or other shoes to get wet
- Sleeping Bag
- Hat
- Extra Clothes
- Strap for glasses
- Sunscreen
- PFD (If you own one)
- Bike Helmet (If you own one)
- Bug Repellent
- BSA Medical Form (Parts A & B)
Additional details will be provided to registered participants via a welcome letter after registering.
NOTES:
- SPACE IS LIMITED. PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER UNLESS YOU ARE SURE YOU CAN ATTEND.
- PAYMENT IS DUE AT REGISTATION.
- YOU MAY CANCEL BEFORE 7/30/2026 WITHOUT PENALTY.
- EACH TROOP PLEASE CONSIDER SENDING AT LEAST ONE ADULT.
