About this Event
SMALL BITES, STRONG FUTURES
Understanding Feeding Development, Pediatric Feeding Disorders & Inclusive Mealtimes
Mealtimes are about so much more than food. SMALL BITES, STRONG FUTURES is an engaging, practical learning experience designed to help educators, therapists, and families better understand feeding development and support young children with feeding differences.
Together, we’ll explore how feeding connects to sensory, motor, social-emotional, behavioral, and family development, with a focus on Pediatric Feeding Disorders (PFD) and the real-world barriers families may experience.
Through interactive polls, case studies, and practical discussion, participants will explore evidence-based approaches—including responsive feeding and caregiver empowerment—and learn strategies that can be applied in inclusive early childhood and educational settings.
What You’ll Learn
Participants will learn to:
- Identify typical feeding milestones and recognize potential red flags.
- Describe evidence-based strategies for supporting children with feeding differences.
- Recognize family stressors, barriers, and the broader impact of Pediatric Feeding Disorders.
- Identify appropriate referral pathways and community resources.
What You’ll Take Away
You’ll leave with practical tools, screening resources, family-centered strategies, and greater confidence in supporting children and families around feeding—while creating more inclusive, responsive, and supportive mealtime experiences.
Whether you’re an educator, therapist, caregiver, or other professional who supports young children, SMALL BITES, STRONG FUTURES will give you tools you can take from the table to your everyday practice.
