We understand that committing to long-term fostering can feel overwhelming — and sometimes it just doesn’t fit your schedule. That’s why this month, Chickasha Animal Welfare is piloting a brand new program: 𝐒𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐞𝐧𝐝! 💖
We actually tried this once before during a snowstorm and had AMAZING success, so we’re bringing it back!
🐶 𝐒𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡! 💤
Here’s how it works:
🛏️ Foster pick-up: Friday from 1:00–5:00 PM
🐶 Your shelter guest enjoys a weekend away from the shelter
🏡 Foster return: Monday from 1:00–5:00 PM
✍️ Document all the dog’s interests, quirks, likes, and dislikes to help them get adopted faster
Why does this matter? Because even one weekend can change a dog’s life. A short break from the shelter helps reduce stress, gives them time to relax in a home environment, and helps us learn more about their personality outside the kennel.
✨ Are they potty trained?
✨ Do they love car rides?
✨ Couch potato or adventure buddy?
✨ Good with kids, cats, or other dogs?
All of this information helps us promote them better and ultimately helps them find forever homes faster. 💙
