Spring doesn’t rush, and neither will we. Slow Looking is a gentle, beginner-friendly nature walk designed to help you reconnect with the natural world through mindful photogrpahy. Led by Amber Braxton, this experience invites you to wander, observe, and document the small moments of Spring that often go unnoticed.Rather than focusing on technical rules, we’ll explore how photography can become a practice of awareness– using light, texture, and details as guides for deeper connection. Phones and cameras are equally welcome.
This is a low-pressure, welcoming space for adults who want to be outside, feel grounded, and see the world a little differently. You don’t need to be a photographer– you just need to be willing to look.
Participants will receive a simple take-home guide with nature and photography prompts to continue the practice beyond the workshop.
Prerequisites/Safety: We will be walking on rustic trails in the woods, so participants should be prepared to step over logs, duck under branches, or walk over moist, squishy ground. Please wear sturdy, waterproof shoes and appropriate outdoor clothing.
