Slow Down for the Solstice
Advertisement
As the days grow shorter and the nights grow longer, nature begins to slow down. This family-friendly program will explore how animals, including humans, respond to the changing seasons. Through stories, an interactive animal show with turtles, frogs, birds and others, as well as a take home activity, we’ll discover how animals prepare for winter-whether they migrate, hibernate, or simply slow down. We’ll also look at how humans have traditionally responded to the darker, colder season and why the winter solstice is a meaningful time for rest, reflection, and gathering. Come slow down with us and discover the many ways living things adapt to winter’s quieter rhythm.
