Slice of Savings

Ready to turn some dough into dough? 🍕💵
Grab the whole family and open your very own pretend pizza shop! Choose a restaurant name, set your budget, shop for ingredients and supplies, create a menu, and serve up customer orders—all while trying to keep your new business in the green.
Kids and grown-ups will work side-by-side to make decisions, solve problems, and discover how everyday money choices can add up. Aprons and chef hats are encouraged, so come dressed for the job!
Families will tackle a series of playful challenges together:
🍕 Name Your Pizza Shop — Dream up your restaurant, design a flyer, and enjoy a real slice of pizza while you get your starting budget.
🛒 Shop the Ingredient Market — Stock up on dough, sauce, cheese, and toppings. Will you splurge on premium ingredients or save with the basics?
💡 Face the Utility Challenge — Spin the wheel to find out what you'll owe for rent, electricity, water, and other expenses.
👨🍳 Stock Your Kitchen — Shop for the ovens, pizza cutters, boxes, aprons, and supplies you'll need to get cooking.
🧾 Build Your Menu — Add up your costs, check your budget, and decide what to charge for each slice.
💵 Serve Your Customers — Fill pretend orders, calculate what each customer owes, and practice handling money and making change.
Psst... Because you can't run a pizza shop without doing a little quality control, pizza and drinks will be provided. 😋
Presented in collaboration with Park Community Credit Union, this event serves up family fun with a tasty side of money smarts.
