Join Académie Glorianna, specialists in historical swordsmanship, for an action- packed May bank holiday weekend. Watch combat demonstrations, handle replica weapons and drop into bitesize talks throughout both days. Featured weapons include the backsword, longsword, sword and buckler and two-handed swords. This is a free, drop in event so come along and enjoy at your own pace. The full programme will run on both Saturday and Sunday:
- 11.15am: Bitesize talk - Meet the experts Academie Glorianna
- 11.30am: Combat demonstration - The Backsword
- 12:30pm: Bitesize talk - Swords and their Symbolism
- 12:45pm: Combat demonstration – Two-handed Swords
- 1.45pm: Bitesize talk - Early Swords
- 2.00pm: Combat demonstration - The Sword and Buckler
- 3.00pm: Bitesize talk - Later Swords
- 3.15pm: Combat demonstration - The Longsword
