Welcome to The S.L.A.P! (Scottish Longsword Advancement Programme)At the previous S.L.A.P event held in Edinburgh, we (the Institute for Historical Arts) were selected to be the next hosts. We are excited to welcome you to Dundee for a weekend of top quality instruction from Miro Lahtela of EHMS in Finland (at the time of writing, the world #3 in longsword rankings).
Specific details on the content Miro will be teaching will be made available at a later date.
It's recommended to have a full set of steel longsword equipment (mask with back of head protection, throat protector, heavy gloves, fencing jacket/trousers, elbow/knee/shin protection, a groin guard or athletic cup) to get the most out of the event. The IHA may have some equipment available for borrowing, but this must be organised beforehand.
Please note that to attend this event you MUST have appropriate insurance for practicing martial arts. This is usually provided when you are a member of a HEMA club - check with your instructors if you aren't sure
