CALM – A SLAC OPEN CALL FOR ARTTake a breath.
Slow things down for a moment. We’ve got a new assignment for you. But don’t worry, it’s chill.🤍
South Lake Artists’ Co-op is putting together a new exhibition at Sip Coffee House in Crown Point, and the theme is Calm.
In a world that often feels loud and fast, this show is about stillness, grounding moments, and gentle energy. Think quiet spaces, peaceful scenes, soft color palettes, balance, rest, nature, reflection, simplicity, or whatever calm looks like to you. 🌿 ☁️
Literal or abstract, personal or observational — all interpretations are welcome.
Let your work create a pause. Let it offer someone a moment of ease. 🫶
All mediums are welcome as long as the work can be SAFELY mounted to the wall with proper wiring! 🎨

Please name your jpegs clearly so we can match titles to the art. We need to know which piece goes with which tag!
You’ll receive an email notification for any accepted work after the submission deadline by end of day Wednesday, February 11th.
✨ GOOD TO KNOW
• NO submission or commission fees
• Size Limit: No larger than 39 inches
• Sculpture: Must be securely mountable on the WALL
• Framing: All pieces MUST be properly framed and wired (NO sawtooth hangers)
• We will not hang pieces that aren’t ready to go — no exceptions

📍 Sip Coffee House – Crown Point
11 N. Court St., Crown Point, Indiana 46307
(If you can’t make the scheduled drop-off time, please contact a SLAC admin PRIOR to drop-off or ASAP to make arrangements.)
— Please sign in your pieces on the provided sheet
— Do not leave artwork unattended or with coffee shop staff without notifying a SLAC admin
— Attach a tag to the back of your piece with your name, title, and price (or NFS)

Friday, February 20th at 7pm. ☕🖼️
Expect good art, good coffee, and a calm, welcoming space to gather and connect.
