SkyFest Big Bear

Welcome to SkyFest Big Bear! This August 14, 15 & 16 we're celebrating the beautiful night sky above us in Big Bear Lake! Explore stargazing, astronomy, astrophotography and connect with nature after dark. Attendees will learn how dark skies play an important role in a healthy ecosystem and how light pollution affects our ability to enjoy and benefit from the night sky.

12 PM - 4 PM: AstroFestival at Big Bear Lake Convention Center, 42900 Big Bear Blvd

4 PM - 9 PM: DiscoverFest at 40971 North Shore Dr/Hwy 38 (FREE!)

8 PM - 11 PM: Stargaze at the Summit, 880 Summit Blvd

Astrophotography Workshops

Happening 8/14 and 8/15 from 8 PM - 10 PM. Locations to be determined by workshop host.

Info: This is a FREE family-friendly event featuring games, activities, and more. Peer through a telescope to marvel at stars and planets, take a guided night hike and stargaze, learn about nighttime wildlife around the campfire and finish the evening with a screening of WALL-E. Info: Local photographer Bending Energy Photography is a master behind the lens capturing the landscape, wildlife and our beautiful night sky. Beginner/Intermediate photographers are invited to the FRIDAY, AUGUST 14 workshop from 8 PM - 10 PM. Intermediate/advanced photographers are invited to the SATURDAY, AUGUST 15 workshop from 8 PM - 10 PM.
