This event is to help Hammerson raise funds to pay off his surgery. Hammerson had decided after two years of college he was going to join the U.S. Air Force, serving his country in a highly specialized capacity! He swore in on 3/13 & after a couple of months hot his orders to report to Air Force Basic Military Training on 6/16. Well... On 5/ 31 he injured his knee in a jujitsu match & found out the next day he had fractured his tibial spine & would need surgery. Finding a surgeon in network was a pain, it also took 2 months to get insurance approved, & half of the out of pocket cost together. Finally surgery was on 8/6 & it went very well! The tibial spine was anchored down with a titanium fiber like "shoelace" material & some repairs were made to the meniscus. Two weeks after surgery it is now time for physical therapy & to get the leg working again better than ever!
The benefit's goal is to raise enough funds to cover the medical expenses that I couldn't cover. The Air Force will not give a security clearance to anyone with debt on their credit report even in the smallest amount. Hammerson already had issues with some college loans that had to be paid back so that the FBI investigator would clear him. The Air Force is very picky these days & it is not a simple thing to just join on a whim. Hammerson scored an 89 out of 99 on his ASVAB so they want him & he has one of the best jobs lined up. Let's get this next generation warrior flying above the fray & away from any issues of debt holding him back. USAF or BUST!! 🇺🇸🛫✈️💯
