After getting sleet and rain last year, we’re planning another annual Scrambles & Sport Accuracy. Given our terrible luck with the weather, we’re actually going to plan a rain date! Scrambles will be scheduled for September 12th, with a rain date of the 13th. Whether you’ve got a fresh A-license or you’re a sky god with 1,000s of jumps, this is for you!
More details to come as we get closer to the day of, but the general game plan is:
-5 RW jumps in small groups, lead by some of your favorite Sky Knights
-You can accumulate points in freefall & points with landing accuracy.
-Like every game except golf, the person with the highest number of points wins.
Prizes: Free jumps (what else?!?)
I expect that a few of you will need to rent gear, so sign up early so we can make arrangements ahead of time.
Saturday Schedule:
Circle up at 8:30am—Check in upstairs in the Ravin’s Nest so your name is on the list for the day. Bring an RW suit if you have one. Make sure your gear is ready to go (arranged a rental rig, done your gear checks, etc.)
Briefing at 9:00–team assignments and a quick briefing for the competition.
First round manifested as soon as the briefing is done, so be ready to dirt dive with your team right after the briefing.
Bring lunch/snacks/water, and plan turning loads competition style (~45 min between jumps).
There will be 3 rounds of 4-way, a short break to form the big teams, brief the jumps, and then 2 rounds of 8-way.
If the ceilings get too low to permit the RW portion of the competition, we’ll complete the remaining rounds with hop and pops for sport accuracy.
Trophies went unawarded last year, so bring your best this year! And if you’re not going to be good, at least be entertaining (there’s a prize for that, too).
