Chili Cook Off and Barnebirkie Cookie Collections.
You are also requested to wear a Norwegian sweater if you have one. The program will highlight Norwegian winter sports and the medal count in the 2026 Winter Olympics.
We have 2 categories for our chili cook-off: Red meat (beef, pork) or non-red meat (poultry, vegetarian) The awards are people's choice. Everyone at the meeting gets to vote.
Barnebirkie is the children's ski race held in conjunction with the American Birkebeiner up in Hayward, Wisconsin late in February. Every year District 5 Sons of Norway has a cookie tent to treat the kids when they finish their race. The cookies for Barnebirkie should be boxed or bagged in a transportable, non-returnable container. No nuts preferred. Please indicate the # of dozen on your package.
