Skinner & T'witch are absolutely delighted to be returning to play at our local Folk Club, First Monday Folk, at Bingley Arts Centre, Main Street, Bingley BD16 2LZ, on Monday, July 6th, from 7.30pm.
This will be a very special 'Writers in the Round' event, including the marvellous Vincent Cross (US) and Tom Portman (IRE). ❤️🎶
Writers in the Round brings together three acclaimed songwriters — Skinner & T’witch (UK), Vincent Cross (USA), Tom Portman (IRE) — for an intimate evening of songs and stories. Blending folk, Americana, and contemporary English and Irish songwriting, this special showcase invites audiences into the creative heart of each artist, where melody meets meaning. Expect a night of lyrical depth, musical craftsmanship, and shared inspiration — a true celebration of England and Ireland’s vibrant songwriting traditions.
Skinner & T'witch - Drawing on music-hall and vaudeville traditions, Skinner & T’witch combine original comedy and satire with folk, flamenco and theatre-style songs. Their influences include Flanders and Swann, Jake Thackray, Noel Coward, Kurt Weill, Leonard Cohen, Bert Jansch, and the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band. www.skinnerandtwitch.com
Vincent Cross - Irish-born and New York–based singer-songwriter Vincent Cross bridges the worlds of folk, Americana, and traditional music. His latest album A Place Where Songs Come to Live (Rescue Dog Records, 2025) reached the Top 10 on the Folk DJ Charts and explores themes of heritage, family, and identity through poetic, roots-driven songwriting. 🔗 https://linktr.ee/vincentcross2
Tom Portman - Galway-based multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and composer Tom Portman is known for his mastery of guitar, dobro, and violin. With seven solo albums and collaborations spanning blues, folk, and world music, Portman brings a soulful and exploratory touch to every performance. His recent projects highlight his deep musical curiosity and craft. 🔗 https://www.tomportmanmusic.com/

Skinner & T’witch have been on the road since 2014; released five albums; and have performed widely around the UK. They have toured both in Australia and the US.
‘Skinner & T’witch have been described as “a pair of comic geniuses” and I would not disagree - they are unique: there is nobody to compare them with’. The Living Tradition
'Skinner & T’witch are both excellent musicians and real comics; their arrangements are stylistically intelligent, in a broad range of genres, combined with lyrics that can be collectively satirical and serious. They keep the audience in the palms of their hands through their cracking personalities and the varied nature of the set. They are a real treat to work with!' Skipton Town Hall
'Excellent singing and harmonies, fine musicianship with some lovely flamenco flourishes, and songs in turn thought-provoking and humourous – and sometimes both!' TwickFolk
'A great duo, with a lovely rapport and humorous banter between each other which they extended to the audience through the evening. Singing and playing mostly their own songs, they sang with passion and obvious enjoyment, which stimulated audience participation. A thoroughly enjoyable evening'. Ripon Wilfrid's Folk Club
'Skinner & T'witch are a very entertaining duo, who kept our audience spellbound, and singing along, the whole evening. Highly recommended.' Banbury Folk Club
'It was a joy to have Skinner & T'witch perform for us. We had some good chuckles, brief interludes of pathos, and perhaps even occasional bathos, some bits to join in with, and we all left with a glow. What more could you ask?' Steve Primarolo, Bracknell Folk Club
