The Origin Story of Skin I'm In Fashion Week™

Skin I'm In Fashion Week™ was created by celebrated photographer Ferrell Phelps to embrace the beauty of all skin tones, identities, and abilities, breaking barriers in the fashion industry. The show is dedicated to celebrating diversity, representation, and inclusivity in an industry that often overlooks these essential values. With models of different skin conditions, disabilities, and body types, the event shines a light on the uniqueness of individuals, making it one of the most diverse fashion events in Houston. Its purpose is to uplift and celebrate the beauty in everyone, providing a platform for those who are often underrepresented.

Beneficiary: Be More Adaptive™

Be More Adaptive™ is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing accessible disability resources, enabling people with disabilities globally to lead fulfilling, sustainable, and productive lives. Funds raised through Skin I'm In Fashion Week™ will support Be More Adaptive's Global Disability Resource™ platform. This year's show will feature an adaptive fashion designer from the Czech Republic, Muroj Negha, showcasing how fashion can be both beautiful and accessible. Skin I'm In Fashion Week 2024 is set to take place at the exclusive Shop Clubs in Derby, a brand-new venue in Houston designed for car enthusiasts. This unique, multi-level space offers not only car storage but an elegant, rollable event setting. With luxurious details, including a hidden speakeasy cigar room, exclusive VIP lounges, and stunning car displays, the venue perfectly complements our "Revved Up Runway" theme. Its accessibility, modern design, and sophistication make it the perfect backdrop for this one-of-a-kind event.

Accessibility Information
Our venue is fully accessible and rollable, designed for ease of movement due to its car storage function. We offer several accessible parking spaces and have accessible restrooms on-site. The second-floor VIP lounge is easily accessible via an elevator. Additionally, we will have an on-site American Sign Language interpreter to ensure inclusivity for all attendees. We are committed to making the event welcoming and enjoyable for everyone.

Parking & Ridesharing:
