Skills Sessions are back! We are so excited to bring back our Skills Sessions this year with Coach Mindy Comfort leading them. Coach Mindy brings an impressive amount of experience and skill to the gym:
*State Champion as a sophomore starter
*Final Four appearance as a junior setter
*1st Team All-State (Setter, 1993)
*1st Team All-State (Middle Hitter, 1994)
*Played at Olivet Nazarene University on a volleyball scholarship
*6 years coaching MICA (leading 3 teams each session!)
*Former Varsity Coach at Springport High School, setting new program records
*Current Assistant Coach at Concord Varsity, where they were Elite 8 in the 2024 state season
Coach Mindy has an amazing volleyball IQ, and we are so blessed that she is willing to invest her time into our athletes in the midst of her busy schedule.
Daily Focus: Each day will focus on a key part of the game.
· Day 1: First Contact
· Day 2: Second Contact
· Day 3: Third Contact
Skill Levels:
There will be three sessions a day, divided by skill level. It is important that players are signed up for their correct skill level to get the most out of these training sessions. For instance, if your player is still developing their serve, it would be a waste of both her time and Mindy’s to be in a group that was focusing on jump and spot serving.
The 3 skill level sessions are:
1. Beginner Level – 10U/12U or newer players
2. Intermediate Level – Experienced 12U/14U players
3. Advanced Level – JV/Varsity players
Cost:
The cost is $30 per session or $80 for all three days.
This is not a fundraiser; all proceeds go directly to Coach Mindy and gym costs.
If your athlete is serious about improving, this is an incredible opportunity. To put it in perspective:, comparable small-group trainings (such as those at Flight) cost $30 for just 45 minutes. Small groups with just two players can run $60 for 45 minutes.
As you can see, these Skills Sessions offer high level learning at an amazing value.
