Artist's Profile
As a self-taught artist and art educator, with a love for heritage buildings and architectural sketching subjects, Thain Lin has designed and developed art curricula and conducted numerous sketching workshops in Singapore. He sees sketching as a daily exercise and is always seeking to improve his composition and techniques. His favourite sketching medium is a combination of ink and watercolour. Thain Lin often donates his artworks to help raise funds for the less fortunate and the wildlife rescue organisations. Thain Lin works full-time and heads a large IT professional business service firm in Singapore. Thain Lin is also certified to WSQ ACLP2 as an adult educator specialist.

In this engaging workshop, participants will learn to sketch people in everyday settings and urban environments. Tay Thain Lin will guide you through the basics of the human form, emphasizing quick sketches to convey motion. He will share his expert tips and tricks for capturing people on paper. The key objective is to master swift, loose strokes that communicate the simplicity and fluidity of your subjects’ movements and energy. Additionally, participants will benefit from guided hands-on practice to refine their skills.
