About this Event
Help bring that scene in your head to life or fine tune an existing script at this special sketch comedy writing event. Facilitated by Highwire Improv co-founder Brian Shea, we will gather as a group to share ideas and provide constructive feedback to one another. Participants will work together to punch up scripts or create a strong outline for a comedic idea. We may even perform staged readings of some sketches at the end of the session.
Join us as we work to grow our community of sketch comedy writers at Highwire! Registration is free, but capacity will be capped at 15 people. Writing teams must register individually.
Brian Shea (he/him) discovered improv in 2015 and has gone full speed ahead ever since. A co-founder of Highwire Improv, he performs regularly in the Baltimore area with Teen Angst, Surprise Surprise, Important Screws and Whatever This Is and other special projects. In 2023, he wrote and produced the live sketch show Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time, and he created daily YouTube videos for several months during lockdown in 2020. He has never met a tag run he didn’t love and knows way too many random facts about R.E.M.
