About this Event
Sketch and Release: Black Artists in Rural Oregon
Join us at the Open Arts Center on November 20 from 6–8 PM for Sketch and Release, a touring multimedia poetry and storytelling performance created by multidisciplinary artist Jason McNeal Graham (MOsley WOtta).
Sketch and Release centers the voices and experiences of Black creatives living and working in rural Oregon. Blending documentary film, poetry, storytelling, and guided conversation, the 60-minute experience explores identity, connection, creativity, and what it means to build community across differences.
Following the performance, guests will have an opportunity to engage in conversation and reflection around the stories and ideas shared.
Jason McNeal Graham, also known as MOsley WOtta, is a Chicago-born, Oregon-based multidisciplinary artist, writer, painter, performer, and community builder. A former Creative Laureate for the City of Bend and Oregon slam poetry champion, Jason has presented his work nationally and internationally through platforms including TEDx, OPB, and NPR.
