About the Film: Inspired by the experiences of writer, director and star Jonah Feingold, this hysterical and heartwarming rom-com, focuses on 30-year-old New Yorker Leo Kadner (Feingold), who unexpectedly reconnects with Eva (Sarah Coffey), his Jewish summer-camp teen crush and decides it’s time to finally get around to that bar mitzvah. Though the idea is initially an opportunity to get her attention, Leo’s studies may be just what is needed to get him back on track to adulting. Charming at every turn, 31 CANDLES leans hard on the importance of relationships in exploring identity, growth, tradition and the possibility of romance striking twice.
