Six years ago, a friend approached me with an idea: organizing a blood drive in Joel’s honor. It felt like the perfect way to celebrate his life and legacy—and, truthfully, I’ve never been great at saying no. What I didn’t realize then was that this would grow into an annual tradition. Yet here we are, six years later, continuing to honor him in a meaningful way.In previous years, the blood drive was held on January 14 to mark Joel’s birthday.
