This introductory series of classes is carefully crafted for those who are new to pottery and wish to delve into the core techniques of using a potter's wheel. Over six engaging days, participants will gain invaluable hands-on experience, guiding them through the complex process of shaping clay into beautiful forms. Each day is structured to build on the previous lessons, ensuring a thorough understanding of essential wheel techniques for successful pottery making. Throughout the sessions, participants will learn how to properly center the clay on the wheel, control its speed, and manipulate the clay to create various shapes and sizes of pottery pieces.
The class not only focuses on technical skills but also emphasizes the importance of creativity in pottery. Participants will be encouraged to explore their artistic inclinations, experimenting with different forms and designs as they develop their unique style. In addition to shaping and throwing clay. By the end of the six days, attendees will have the opportunity to create several finished pieces that they can be proud of, showcasing their newfound skills and personal artistic expression.
