Siuslaw Invasive Species Pull

Help remove noxious weeds in your community and meet new people at a beautiful site overlooking the Siuslaw River!
About this Event

Volunteer events along the North Fork Siuslaw in '24 and '25 have worked to remove invasive plants from an environmental restoration site belonging to the Confederated Tribes of Coos, Lower Umpqua, and Siuslaw Indians. Scotch Broom, Foxglove, and Ivy have been the primary targets of this effort. Keeping these invasive species suppressed gives native plantings a chance to establish, and critically limits the invasives' spread to other areas.

Attendees will meet at 9:00 the northwest corner of the Safeway parking lot on 101 in Florence, Oregon. We will then depart as a group to the site, a 5 minute drive away. Attendees are encouraged to carpool of possible as parking at the site itself is limited.

Snacks will be provided! Attendees are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles.

This event will include tasks that require stooping, pulling, lifting, and moving on uneven surfaces and hillsides.
