SIU Field Hockey Reunion Weekend | Campus Tour & Dinner Registration
About this Event
Former SIU Field Hockey players and friends will gather in Carbondale this August to celebrate the life and legacy of Coach Julee Illner while reconnecting with teammates during a special Field Hockey Reunion Weekend.
Led by 1979 graduate Ann Stribling Verderber and a committee of former players, alumni are raising funds to dedicate the SIU Soccer Office in honor of Coach Illner, whose influence continues to be felt more than a decade after her passing in 2014.
Coach Julee Illner devoted 34 years of service to Southern Illinois University, including 20 seasons as head field hockey coach. A member of the SIU Sports Hall of Fame and recipient of numerous honors throughout her career, she built state, Midwest, and national caliber championship teams while serving as a mentor, educator, and friend to generations of student-athletes.
The dedication project will create a permanent tribute to a coach whose impact reached far beyond wins and losses and whose legacy continues to inspire Salukis today.

Reunion Dinner Registration
Reconnect with teammates and friends during an evening of fellowship, memories, and celebration at The Flame. Please register so we can provide an accurate guest count to the restaurant for the reservation.
Important: Each attendee will be responsible for purchasing their own dinner and beverages.

12:30 p.m. – Julee Illner Soccer Office Dedication Ceremony
Held in conjunction with the SIU Soccer match at the Lew Hartzog Track & Field Complex. Dedication ceremony begins at 12:45. Match begins at 1 p.m. Alumni athletes will be recognized at halftime.
