Community Service SIT AND SEW -February 3, 2025 - 9:30-1:30 at Conley’s ChurchEVERYONE IS WELCOME IF YOU SIGNED UP OR NOT!!!!
Breakfast snacks and water will be provided. Bring your own drinks and lunch.
Project #1 - Make a DUFFLE BAG or small TOILETRY BAG for Duffle Bags and More helping kids in foster care. Sewers needed. All materials provided. *Bring a #9 sewing machine needle, an empty bobbin, and regular sewing supplies. Experienced bag makers will assist us. **Your RSVP for duffle bags to Marilyn White at [email protected] is appreciated to ensure we have the correct number of assistants for everyone. Led by Mary Shepherd (See the attachment).
Project # 2 - Make placemats for those who receive home meals. We will use assorted-size fabric strips and quilt blocks. Fabric, batting, and backing are provided, or you can bring your scraps! (At least 13” x 19” scraps for backing and any size strips and blocks.) Sewers, cutters, and pressers are needed.
The placemats will be finished at 12” x 18” and will be envelope/pillowcase, turning-style finishing (no binding). Sample placemats and basic directions will be available. You can also create your own! We also have some pre-printed quilt-as-you-go batting. *Bring your sewing machine, 6” x 24” ruler, rotary cutter, and basting pins.
