Sister Act is the feel-amazing musical comedy smash based on the hit 1992 film that has audiences jumping to their feet! Featuring original music by Tony and 8-time Oscar winner Alan Menken (Newsies, Beauty And The Beast, Little Shop Of Horrors), this uplifting musical was nominated for 5 Tony Awards including Best Musical.The story follows Deloris Van Cartier, a singer who witnesses a murder by her gangster boyfriend, Curtis. To protect her, the police hide her in a convent, where she reluctantly becomes Sister Mary Clarence. Struggling to fit into the convent’s lifestyle, Deloris transforms the choir of nuns, turning them into a vibrant and soulful group that gains widespread attention. This fame jeopardizes her safety as Curtis tracks her down. In the end, with the help of her newfound friends in the convent and the police, Deloris manages to escape danger, ultimately finding a deeper sense of purpose and community. The musical features a score by Alan Menken and Glenn Slater, bringing a fresh and lively soundtrack to the heart-warming and comedic story.
