Project Etico Australia is a hospitality-based social enterprise startup, built on a proven, successful international model, that trains and employs people with intellectual disabilities. As a founder and volunteer director, Andrea's role and vision were to open the first Hotel Etico in Australia in the Blue Mountains region and subsequently scale the social enterprise to include hotels in each Australian state and territory. CEO & Co-founder, Hotel Etico

Andrea Comastri is the CEO and Co-founder of Hotel Etico, Australia’s pioneering and multi award-winning not-for-profit social enterprise hotel, operating across NSW and ACT. Hotel Etico is an Australian first, employing and training young people with disability, and challenging the wider community to recognise both the human and economic value of an inclusive society. Through partnerships with the Australian tourism and hospitality industry, Andrea is working to make the sector the most inclusive in the world.

A passionate advocate for social enterprise, Andrea believes in the transformative power of inclusive employment to create sustainable impact. With over 25 years’ experience in the not-for-profit sector, he has held executive, director, and advisory roles in charities and philanthropic organisations focused on disability, youth unemployment, homelessness, domestic violence, addiction, aged care, and education.

Andrea is an Honorary Industry Fellow at the UTS Business School, a 2022 AMP Tomorrow Maker, and a 2024 Westpac Scholar Social Change Fellow.
