Sun City Girls co-founder returns for four nights of improvised, uncompromising solo guitar.
For the first time in two decades, guitarist and composer Sir Richard Bishop returns to Australia for a rare run of intimate performances.
A founding member of the legendary Sun City Girls, Bishop has spent more than forty years exploring the outer reaches of folk, improvisation, psychedelia and global musical traditions. His solo work has drawn international acclaim for its virtuosic guitar playing, adventurous spirit and singular music vision.
Fresh from 2025's Hillbilly Ragas, Bishop releases its companion piece Hillbilly Erotica on 31 July 2026 via Drag City. This October run lands with the album barely cold, as he pushes his distinctive approach to the guitar into new territory.
Renowned for performances that balance intricate composition with fearless spontaneity, Bishop remains one of the most restless and original voices in underground music. No two shows are alike, each unfolding as its own exploration of sound, place and possibility.
