Sir Helga - Frame Weight Transfer and Basic Biomechanics - 101

Duchess Helga will be coming to teach an SCA Masterclass in Bio-Mechanics, Small Frame Power Generation, and More.
This is in conjunction with Blaha An Oir A&S Daycamp, ( https://www.facebook.com/events/816364441498377 ). Held at Waller Rd Grange Hall which will allow us to have the class inside and fighting inside or outside as desired based on weather.
Site opens at 10am, class to start at 11p, with a fight practice after class ending by 2pm.
This is free to everyone who wishes to come but donations are welcome to support the continued use of the site.
From Helga about the class:
This class focuses on power generation though frame weight transfer vs the more traditional rotational mechanics. It also has a focus on biomechanics of the shoulder, arm, and core. During the class I will discuss some specific needs created due to height, weight, and strength differences and how they affect SCA rattan fighting. Individuals of all body sizes and shapes are encouraged to take the class.
This course is a 101 course with a focus on the basics and skills needed to generate power with a stable shoulder, good elbow position, and frame weight transfer.
Frame weight transfer is the delivery of force in which body mass and structure move into the shot, typically across the opponent’s center line. Frame weight transfer emphasizes connected and aligned body structures carrying force through the target.
For class, please bring your sword and shield. This class does not require you being in armor.
Bonus/Warning: I will be highlighting some of the biases commonly taught/believed about male vs female bodies in the sport. I cuss, use odd analogies, and am an ADHD grimlin… However, I believe in a very interactive class and want to work with each person vs infodumping and disappearing.
