Guided by Richard, you’ll sketch the streets and people of Barnsley Town Centre. Urban sketching is a great way to observe and record your immediate surroundings, creating a collection of drawings that can inform further investigations or exist as standalone work. Richard will guide you with his approach to sketching as a starting point for you to get creative.
All materials will be provided and all skill levels are welcome to attend. The full bar service will be available and the first drink is on us!

More about Richard Kitson
Richard Kitson is a figurative artist based in Barnsley. His work has been featured in prestigious exhibitions, including the Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer Portrait Award at the National Portrait Gallery, London, the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, the Ruth Borchard Self-Portrait Prize and Figurative Art Now. Kitson has exhibited across the UK and internationally and was a participant in Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year 2018.
