SIP & CUT: A Matisse-Experience (Art, Music, Wine & Snacks)

Step into the vibrant world of Henri Matisse, one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, in an immersive creative workshop. In the final chapter of his career, Matisse revolutionised modern art by “drawing with scissors” – cutting bold, organic shapes from painted paper to create masterpieces like The Blue Nudes and The Swimming Pool.

This workshop explores how his cut‑outs evolved from a compositional tool into celebrated art.

We’ll begin with a short, engaging introduction to Matisse’s late-career and masterpieces – his paper cut-outs. Then, inspired by his technique, you'll learn to create your own vibrant artworks using paint, paper, scissors and curated cut-out sets, all while sipping French wine, enjoying small bites, and soaking up a curated playlist of French chanson and early jazz.

📍 The workshop takes place in a cosy art studio, with an inspiration corner featuring a selection of Matisse’s works and further learning resources.

🖼️ Most participants complete one large (24×32 cm) and one or two small (A6) cut-out works.
