About this Event
Join us for Toddler Trundle Wednesdays to make mud pies, jump in puddles, climb trees, cook on fires, explore the park and more! It all makes for a great, fun-packed session not just for your little one but for you too.
These sessions are all 1 hour long and are aimed at toddlers up to school age children, with activities, such as crafts using natural materials, den building, exploring, mini beasts, cooking on fire etc. We use natural resources for inspiration, developing, where appropriate, the physical, social, cognitive, linguistic, emotional, social and spiritual aspects of the learner.
The sessions are run within the guidelines of the forest school principles and ethos; a long-term process of frequent and regular sessions in a woodland or natural environment, rather than a one-off visit. The sessions take place in the parks wide variety of habitats to support the development of a relationship between the learner and the natural world.
1 adult : 2 children Supervision ratios - we stipulate this ratio for guidance so that everyone can do the activities easily with as little stress as possible. Some activities need more help from the child's adult than others. On camp fire days in particular we need people to be safe.
Meet at the Visitors Centre (note: there is a parking charge *If you are coming regularly we suggest purchasing a parking permit that covers 12 months for as many visits as you like).
