About the Poets:
Bret Crowle is an upcoming author who was born and raised in rural Alberta. Her debut poetry collection, Jesus Is A Voyeur, was published by Frontenac House in October 2024. When she’s not writing, Crowle can also be found plunking on a keyboard, howling show tunes, and binge watching the same 90s TV shows over and over again.
Skylar Kay is an Alberta-based poet and grad school dropout. Since releasing her debut collection, Transcribing Moonlight (Frontenac House 2022), she has moved back home to Calgary where she looks for the magic in everyday life. Her debut collection was well-received, earning a shortlist nod for the Gerald Lampert Memorial Award for Poetry, and won the BPAA’s Robert Kroetsch Award for Poetry. These days, she likes baking muffins, tolerating her cat, and reading as much poetry as possible.
Logan Pollon (they/them) is the poetry editor for filling Station magazine and holds a MA in English and Creative Writing from the University of Calgary. Their poems can be found in the collection Drifting Like a Metaphor: Calgary Poets of Promise, published by Frontenac House. They live in Moh’kíns’tsis, also called Calgary, on Treaty 7 territory. Their cat, Buttercup, loves them.
Eddie is a poet and multidisciplinary artist who has been making a name for themself in the Calgary spoken word community since 2022. Their works, described as “tooth achingly sweet," are centered around love, trauma, grief, body image, mental illness, and rejection of social norms in favour of embracing one’s true self.
