Singing Workshop - Style & Improvisation

Welcome to Singing Workshop - Style & Improvisation! Join us on Sunday 1st December at 12:00 Noon at Coloursound Studios for an afternoon of exploring how to sing with soul and improvise!

We'll be exploring the elements of how to bring soulful sounds to your singing and vocal expression - from tone, to vocal decoration, as well as approaches to improvising or "ad-libbing". If you've wanted to learn how to improvise or ad-lib over songs in a soulful way but are unsure of how to approach it - we'll be using various exercises to get into the flow of creative improv, and not just parroting singers you've heard before. It's time for some musical self-expression!

This is a great step into the world of improvising for all singers and it is open to everyone including beginners - whether you're new to improvising this will help guide your first steps into improv, or if you're a seasoned singer it will give you a creative new approach and oppotrunity to examine your style and improvisation.

Spaces are limited to 15 people so we can really take our time and make sure everyone gets a good amount of individual time. You will be singing in front of each other during the workshop, but it will be a supportive and encouraging environment! Please have a section of a song that you would like to use & explore (something that can be open to interpretation is best!) that you are confident with the lyrics and melody.
