Get acquainted with Demi Clara
Demi Clara is a prolific songwriter and vital member of our music community. Demi released her first single "Kiss Me" in 2020 and has released six more singles since with much more written. Her music has been an eclectic journey, beginning with a jazz influenced alternative sound, and is now arriving at americana and country inspired songs with her latest singles. Last year she released the three singles "Come Back In," "Tongue Tied," and Train Song" ahead of her EP currently being recorded.
Demi has been an important member and advocate for the local music scene. She used to play local music and interview artists as a radio host on WONC's Local Chaos. Since then she's hosted various songwriter showcases and festivals bringing together the community. You can find her regularly at Black Dog Vinyl Cafe in Plainfield either performing solo, in her duo with Aaron Kelly, or hosting her Story Time Showcase on third thursdays.

Get acquainted with Jason Benefield
Jason Benefield is an Aurora artist originally from Chicago with a music career spanning over 25 years. Jason's music is a rich tapestry woven from a diverse array of influences, reflecting the melting pot of sounds that is Chicago. Drawing inspiration from folk, Americana, classic rock, southern rock, outlaw country, classic country, blues, gospel, and more, his songs are a testament to the depth and breadth of his musical upbringing.
Jason released his solo album "Apothecary" back in 2024 and rereleased his earlier works on a compilation album "Archive." You can also catch him performing in his duo Echo & Ransom with Colleen Wild and performing with the band Matt Derda & The High Watts. One of his regular venues is also Black Dog Vinyl Cafe in Plainfield either performing solo, with Echo & Ransom, or hosting his Song Swap series that features different artists each month.
