Singapore Boy In Paris

Singapore Boy in Paris is a 50-minute solo cabaret show written and performed by Hossan
Leong, Singapore’s best-known entertainer and one of the few Southeast Asian artists to hold
France’s prestigious Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.
Part comedy, part concert, part love letter to two cities, the show tells the story of a boy from a two-
room flat in Queenstown who fell in love with French culture, found his voice on stage, and
discovered that home is not a place you leave behind but something you carry with you.
Hossan performs solo at the piano, weaving standup comedy and storytelling between songs that
span Piaf, Aznavour, Trenet, Streisand, Frankie Valli and Singapore songs. The result is an
evening that is funny, moving and deeply personal, performed in English, French and Singlish, with
Malay and Mandarin flourishes.
