10:30am - 4:30pm (with one hour lunch)
Participants will learn how to measure and assemble three different 20pt library board enclosure, while practicing measuring and cutting techniques and skills that can be applied to designing your own enclosures. Boxes include a four-flap folder, a clamshell, and a variation on the tuxedo box (phase box).
Everyone will go home with a three different types of archival enclosures for books and the plans to recreate them for any sized item
Suitable for beginners and all experience levels.
Materials costs are $20 (payable to instructor).

Participant-requested cancellations will be accepted up to 3 days prior to the published cut-off date for registration and will be subject to a 10% cancellation fee (a minimum of $5). After that, the full fee will be forfeited. In the event of the workshop being cancelled by CBBAG, the workshop fee will be fully refunded.
INSTRUCTOR BIOGRAPHY :
Ms. Ubbink operates a book and paper conservation practice, providing services to heritage institutions, collectors, auction houses and antiquarian merchants for over twenty years. From 2007 to 2019, she taught archival preservation for Algonquin College, and continues to contribute to the field through workshop instruction, speaking engagements, and publishing articles. Ms. Ubbink has provided workshops for the Canadian Museum of Science and Technology, the Canadian Museum of Nature, Canada Border Services, the City of Ottawa Archives, and many genealogical and municipal heritage organizations.
